Jim Naismith Reservoir is a raw water reservoir owned by the San Patricio Municipal Water District. It is located near Ingleside, San Patricio County, Texas. A ring-dike-style dam that is about 20 feet high and 1 mile long impounds approximately 200 million gallons of water from Lake Texana and the Nueces River. The surface area of the reservoir is approximately 38 acres. The reservoir’s storage characteristics cause sedimentation to occur, simplifying the water treatment process.

L. David Givler, PE designed the dam while employed by HDR Engineering, Inc. Givler Engineering, Inc. supported HDR Engineering, Inc. during construction of the project by providing construction administration services. The project was completed in the fall of 2001.
